Daniel Raymond Architect NSW Reg. # 9788 Practice operates from our design studio at Suite 01 & 02 No. 6 Waratah Street, Mona Vale. NSW.

Daniel graduated from the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Architecture in 2006 with a Bachelor of Architecture. Since graduating he has spent two years on residential and commercial projects with Leech Harmon Architects in Sydney and a further six years operating his own Residential Design & Interiors Practice. Under the DR Residential Design and Interiors practice Daniel has successfully completed numerous new house projects, large alterations & additions projects, luxury interior-refurbishment projects, interior design of small fashion stores, boutique bars, café spaces, as well as alternate art projects, furniture manufacture, gallery curatorship, figurative painting and landscape painting.

The Design Approach within the practice looks to draw on the local architectural vernacular and apply a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional forms and character of a building. We achieve this through applying new materially, a new weight of proportion and an honest expression of structure and construction detailing. In doing so, we allow the building to transform from the traditional model into a current yet timeless architecture.

We believe we have a unique and natural talent to draw. Drawing and the act of mark making successfully conveys our ideas through beautiful graphic communication in a way that words or photographs cannot articulate.  We intertwine this ability through an innovative design process that utilises the hand-drawn artist impression, and develops the idea using skills and disciplines from physical conceptual models, physical working models, three dimensional digital models, right through to highly accurate, cad-drawn technical drawings. An intrinsic knowledge of construction and an instinctive understanding of practical building detailing, functioning of form and structural systems, allows your ideas to become a physical reality. We provide an enthusiastic, friendly, honest, reciprocal and professional working relationship.

Our role is to take a New House or Alterations & Additions Project from inception through to completion. This process involves the employment of a large amount of varied skill sets and knowledge within the building industry. This is a prerequisite in designing, documenting and administering the construction of the contemporary house within an allocated budget.
